What is Body Talk?
This exotic fitness class is for every women who wants to discover herself, her body, get in excellent shape a have fun at the same time.  Exotic dance is not just about “dancing sexy” but also about self-exploration, findings, and getting in tune with your inner grace and beauty.  You will gain confidence, learn how to empower yourself, overcome fears, and improve balance and “poise” even put some spice into your lives and relationships.

What will the class be like?
Class will include warm-ups, stretching, strength building, dance moves, floor work, and pole movement.  Nudity is not a part of this class.  There are no “wrong” moves!  I urge everyone to take the basic steps we go over in class and make them your own for we all feel and move our bodies in different ways.

What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing. Close fitting gym clothes (leggings, shorts, tanks tops, t-shirts, etc.) are very practical.  Also something you feel good in!  Be sexy yet sporty.  Bare feet are great, as well as comfortable dance shoes or, high heels.

Should I bring anything with me?
The most important thing is to bring an open, positive attitude.  For several of you, taking this class is something new, exciting and perhaps even a bit risqué.  Since we are doing some floor work, you may find that bringing in a Yoga Mat or kneepads may be useful.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy. All you have to do is come to class. You may register and start class on the same day.

 

Can I introduce or bring a friend to class?
Yes, you may. Your friend will just have to pay the $10 class fee if they attend any class for the first time other than the Saturday 12 noon class which is free.

Can I take private lessons?
Yes, this can be arranged.  Just contact us and let us know when you would like to schedule a private class.  Fee will be $75 for one hour.

What is the age range of participants?
The ladies vary in age from about 20 to about 60, the oldest participant to have taken an Exotic Moves Class was 72.  Many mothers and grandmothers participate in the class.  Must be 18 years of age or older.

How difficult is this class?
The class is designed for beginners to develop fitness, balance, poise, to become more self aware, feel sexier and become more in tune with your body and the way it moves.  You may attain any or all of these qualities over the class period.  There are no wrong answers or moves, only your own interpretation.  Anticipate that it will provide some challenge in any or all of these areas but that you will show constant improvement overall.

I am nervous about taking classes is that normal?
Yes, It is perfectly normal to feel nervous about taking the exotic moves or polerize class.  A lot of students feel intimidated by the classes.  This is normal!  Do not worry before you know it, you will get the hang of it.  Come with a positive open mind and be prepared to make some mistakes. It’s normal. 

Is Pole Dancing safe?
Yes, pole dancing is very safe.  As with any strenuous activity or sport you will experience soreness and/or some skin burns from the friction on the poles.  However as you become familiar with the pole you will learn how to properly position yourself as to avoid bumps and bruises.

Does Pole Dancing have any exercise benefits?
Pole dancing is a lot more strenuous than it looks.  You can burn a good 500 calories per class.  Some moves are more complicated than they look.  You will have to support your entire weight with one arm at times and support your upper body weight with your stomach muscles.  You can expect to increase muscle definition and tone your body, especially your arms, thighs, stomach and buttocks.

Will there be any people watching?
No, we do not allow any spectating. There are no other people in class sessions except for the instructor and students. Men are not allowed.

Can I have my own style in class?
Yes, it is important that every student develops their own style and be aware that you will never move or do steps exactly like someone else.  BodyTalk teaches you the basic moves allowing you to incorporate your own individual style.

How does the Class Pass Work?
You are free to take any class, any time, at your own pace within a 2-3 month period. 6 class expire within 2 months.  12 or more classes expire within 3 months. Our monthly membership is good for 30 days from the date of purchase and includes Exotic Moves and Polerize classes. You can take as many classes as you'd like in that 30 dya period.

Are there any restrictions in the class?
The Exotic Moves classes are limited to 40 ladies and the Polerize classes are limited to 10 ladies. Please reserve your space in the Polerize Class in advance.  The class is restricted to those ladies who are over the age of eighteen.
